This building, which still conserves some kiln-dried mud and straw bricks from the colonial period, is located just a block from the Manzana de las Luces, the city's historic Jesuit quarter, opposite the famous Otto Wulff building (1914) and next to the San Andrés Presbyterian Church (1896). It became a bar in the early 20th century.
Now declared one of the city's "bares notables" it serves espresso, sandwiches using the best regional cold cuts and quality meats, in a venue that was a popular meeting place for journalists and writers such as Ramiro Casasbellas and Tomás Eloy Martínez.
Several Argentine films have been shot here, including the internationally acclaimed Nine Queens (2000).
